Overview
Wurtulla is a narrow beachside strip between Nicklin Way and the surf, with the Wurtulla heath and Currimundi Lake at either end. Homes range from original 1970s beach houses to rebuilt two-storey homes on the same sandy blocks.
Sand, salt and constant sea breeze are hard on a house, and the gaps that open up around old windows, garage doors and roof lines are how pests get in. The heath reserve keeps spiders, ants and the occasional rodent close by.
Older beach houses also have another issue: almost none have current termite protection, and sandy soil makes termite movement easy.

We use coastal-rated residual products around the perimeter, doors, windows and garage, bait inside for cockroaches, and dust the roof void.
Outdoor showers, sheds and carports are treated too, since that is where most beachside activity sits.

Homes built in the 1970s and 1980s here rarely have any current termite protection, and additions over the years often hide the slab edge.
A yearly timber pest inspection is the sensible minimum, especially before or after a renovation.

Rinse and dry outdoor gear rather than leaving it damp against the wall, keep the garage swept, replace worn door seals and trim heath vegetation back from fences.

Cody was great at communicating let know when he going to arrive and was on time. He and Tom did a very through job and went above and beyond. Andy completed a pest inspection at our property in Brisbane and his knowledge is second to none. He is very friendly and genuine and provided a great service. At the end of the pest inspection, he showed us through his findings and talked through different pest control methods and some things we could do to help lessen the chance of any termites finding the property attractive.
