Overview

A general pest treatment is the standard service that keeps a Brisbane home protected from the common crawling pests: ants along the skirting, cockroaches in the kitchen, spiders under the eaves, and silverfish in cupboards and wardrobes. It is the treatment most households book once a year, and the one behind our treatments from $180.

Rather than a blanket spray, the technician treats the two zones that matter: inside the home where you see activity, and the outside perimeter where most pests get in. Treating the entry points and harbourage is what keeps pests out rather than just clearing the ones on the bench.

Every treatment is carried out by a licensed technician using registered products, applied with children and pets in mind. You get a clear price before the work starts and a free service period after it, so if the treated pests return inside that window we come back at no extra charge.

01

What a standard service includes

A general treatment targets the crawling pests most Brisbane homes deal with: ants, cockroaches, spiders, silverfish, and the odd invader that follows the warm weather in. The technician treats the interior where activity shows and the exterior perimeter that acts as the first line of defence.

Because the barrier is set around entry points and harbourage, the treatment keeps working after the visit rather than only clearing what is visible on the day.

02

Interior and exterior treatment areas

Inside, the focus is the kitchen, bathrooms, wardrobes, and the gaps around skirting and cabinetry where pests shelter. Outside, the technician treats the perimeter of the building, weep holes, eaves, fence lines, and the paths pests use to reach the house.

Treating both together is what stops the cycle: clear the inside without the perimeter and pests simply walk back in from the garden.

03

Why regular treatment matters

Brisbane's warm, humid climate keeps pests active for much of the year, and pressure builds again each spring and summer. An annual general treatment holds that pressure down before it turns into an infestation, which is almost always cheaper and easier than dealing with an established problem.

Homes near bushland, older Queenslanders, and properties with a past history of activity often do better on a scheduled plan with a treatment set at the right time each year.

04

Safe around family and pets

Treatments are applied by a licensed technician using registered products, placed where they are effective and away from where they should not be. We tell you which areas to keep clear and for how long, which is usually just until things dry.

A little preparation helps the technician work thoroughly: clear access to skirting and the perimeter, put pet bowls and children's items away, and cover fish tanks. If someone in the home has allergies or sensitivities, let us know first.

Safety and property care

Safe treatment, and care for your home

A general treatment only works if it is safe to live around, so every product and placement is chosen with the household in mind, not just the ants and cockroaches on the job sheet.

  • Registered products, licensed technicianEvery treatment uses products registered for household use, applied by a licensed technician who knows the right dose for the job and the surface.
  • Placed away from kids and petsBait and residual treatment go into cracks, skirting gaps, and concealed harbourage rather than open surfaces where children and pets spend time.
  • Minimal disruption on the dayThe technician works room by room and around your schedule, so most of the house stays usable while treatment is underway.
  • Simple prep, simple after-careClear access to skirting and the kitchen beforehand, then keep treated surfaces clear until they dry, usually just a few hours.

Licensed, accredited, trusted

Credentials you can verify

Every treatment is carried out by a QBCC-licensed, accredited technician. We list our licence and accreditation details so homeowners, landlords, and property managers can verify them directly.

Andy completed a pest inspection at our property in Brisbane and his knowledge is second to none. He is very friendly and genuine and provided a great service. At the end of the pest inspection, he showed us through his findings and talked through different pest control methods and some things we could do to help lessen the chance of any termites finding the property attractive.

Myself and my husband highly recommend Andy and Sarah, this is our 2nd time using their pest control services and we have had no problems with pests returning until we were due our next yearly service. They take extreme pride in their work and are very informative on the types of pests and what to use and not use.

The report was available that day and was easy to understand. Their advice was so helpful, not just for our house purchase, but for dealing with the property into the future.

Common questions

Pest and termite questions, answered

What is included in a general pest treatment?

A general treatment covers the inside of the home and the outside perimeter. The technician targets the crawling pests most Brisbane homes see, sets up a barrier around entry points, and treats the spots where pests shelter and travel. You get a clear summary of what was found and what was done, plus a free service period on our packages.

How much does a general pest treatment cost?

A general pest treatment for a standard home starts from $180 and includes our free service period. Our minimum call-out is $150, which covers smaller jobs like setting rodent baits or a flea spray rather than a full general treatment. The exact price depends on the property size, the pests involved, and whether you want a one-off treatment or ongoing cover. Termite and German cockroach work is quoted separately.

How often should I book general pest control?

Every 10 to 12 months. Kept to that cycle, you should never see a cockroach, because the pests never get a chance to breed and re-establish between visits. Australian regulations mean the products we use are designed to biodegrade, and they begin breaking down at around the 10 to 12 month mark. If you leave a gap in your coverage you have no protection during that gap, which is when an infestation restarts. We can set a reminder so a treatment is never left too long.

Do I need to prepare the house before treatment?

A little preparation helps. Clear access to skirting, the kitchen, and the perimeter, put pet bowls and children's toys away, and cover fish tanks. We send simple preparation notes when you book and tell you anything specific to your job. The tidier the access, the more thoroughly the technician can treat the areas that matter.

Is a general pest treatment safe for children and pets?

Yes. We use registered products applied by a licensed technician, placed where they work and kept away from where children and pets reach. We let you know which surfaces to keep clear and for how long, usually just until the treatment dries. If anyone in the home has allergies or specific sensitivities, tell us first and we adjust the plan.

What pests are not covered by a general treatment?

Termites, rodents, fleas, birds, bed bugs, German cockroaches, and mites each need a different method, so they are handled as their own targeted services rather than folded into a general spray. German cockroaches in particular require a specialised treatment program and are quoted separately. If a general treatment is not the right fit for what you are seeing, the technician will tell you and point you to the service that is.
