Termite treatment in Brisbane

Already have termites? We treat the colony, not just the ones you can see. Do not disturb the activity. Book a treatment and a licensed technician will assess it, then match the right system to your home.

Overview

This is the service for a home that already has termites. If you have found mud tubes, hollow-sounding timber, bubbling paint, or live termites, the priority is stopping the colony before it does more damage, and doing it without scattering the nest.

The most important thing you can do right now is leave the activity alone. Do not break open the mud tubes, do not spray, and do not disturb the timber. Termites react to disturbance by moving, which spreads the problem to new parts of the home and makes the colony harder to eliminate.

When we arrive, a licensed technician confirms the species and the extent, then recommends a treatment matched to your home, whether that is a baiting system that eliminates the colony, a Termidor treated zone, or a combination. You get a clear plan and a written quote before any work begins.

01

Colony elimination with baiting

Baiting systems like Trelona ATBS work with termite behaviour rather than against it. The colony feeds on the bait and carries the active ingredient back to the nest, which eliminates the colony at the source instead of just the workers on site.

Baiting suits many Brisbane homes because it targets the nest you cannot see and then transitions into ongoing monitoring.

Structural timber damage left behind by an untreated termite colony

02

Termidor treated zones

Where a chemical barrier suits the home, a Termidor treated zone is applied to the soil and structure so termites cannot cross it undetected. Termites passing through carry the product back through the colony, which adds to the knockdown.

The construction of the home and where the termites are active decide whether a treated zone, baiting, or both is the right call.

03

Barriers and long-term protection

Once the immediate infestation is dealt with, the home still sits in termite country. Management systems, in-ground stations or a treated zone, keep the property protected and give new activity nowhere to hide.

Trelona ATBS and Termidor systems may be eligible for manufacturer-backed warranty programs when they are installed and maintained to the manufacturer's requirements, so we schedule the inspections and maintenance that keep the cover valid.

04

Not sure it is termites yet?

If you have not actually seen termites and want to check the home, an inspection is the better place to start. It confirms whether there is activity and tells us exactly what any treatment needs to deal with.

Either way, book it in rather than waiting. Termite damage does not pause while you decide.

Safety and property care

Safe treatment, and care for your home

Active termite treatment means putting product into the colony, so how and where it is applied matters as much as the treatment itself.

  • Accredited systems, applied by licensed staffBaiting with Trelona ATBS and Termidor treated zones are both applied by licensed technicians trained in that specific system, not an off-the-shelf spray.
  • Applied to the colony, not your living spaceBait goes into ground stations and treated zones go into the soil and structure, so the product is working where the termites travel rather than through the rooms your family uses.
  • Work planned around the householdThe technician plans access to the affected area with minimal disruption, so the rest of the home carries on as normal while the treatment goes in.
  • Before and after the visitLeave any mud tubes or damaged timber exactly as found until the technician arrives, and keep the treated area clear afterwards for the short period they specify on the day.

Andy completed a pest inspection at our property in Brisbane and his knowledge is second to none. He is very friendly and genuine and provided a great service. At the end of the pest inspection, he showed us through his findings and talked through different pest control methods and some things we could do to help lessen the chance of any termites finding the property attractive.

Common questions

Pest and termite questions, answered

I think I have termites. What should I do first?

Do not disturb them. Leave the mud tubes, damaged timber, and any activity exactly as you found them, and do not spray supermarket products at the entry point. Disturbing an active nest makes termites move and spreads the problem to new areas of the home. Call us or book a treatment visit, and let a licensed technician assess the activity before anything is touched.

Why can't I just spray the termites I can see?

Because the termites you see are a fraction of the colony, and the nest causing the damage is usually somewhere you cannot reach. A surface spray kills a few workers and warns the rest, which scatters the colony and makes it harder to eliminate. Professional treatment targets the whole colony through baiting or a treated zone, so the source is dealt with, not just the symptom.

How does termite treatment work?

After confirming the species and the extent, we match the method to your home. Baiting systems like Trelona ATBS let the colony carry the active ingredient back to the nest, eliminating it over time. A Termidor treated zone creates a chemical barrier termites cannot cross undetected. Many homes use a combination. The inspection findings decide the plan, and we explain it before we start.

How much does termite treatment cost?

It is quoted after an inspection, because the price depends on the construction of the home, how established the termites are, and the system the property needs. We would rather see the property and give you an honest figure than quote a number that changes on the day. You get a clear written quote before any work begins, with the options laid out.

Will the termites come back after treatment?

A treated colony is eliminated, but a home in Brisbane stays at risk of new termites arriving, which is why ongoing monitoring matters. We set up the checks that keep an accredited system valid and catch any new activity early. Treating once and walking away leaves the door open, so we build the follow-up into the plan rather than leaving it to chance.

Is termite treatment safe for my family and pets?

Yes. Modern termite systems are applied by licensed technicians and placed where they work rather than sprayed through living areas. Baiting stations sit around the perimeter and in the ground, and treated zones are applied to the soil and structure, not your living space. We explain what is being used, where, and any short precautions before we begin.
