Overview
Bli Bli sits on the Maroochy River floodplain, surrounded by cane land, wetlands and drainage channels, with newer estates climbing the higher ground. It is a suburb of two halves, and the pests differ between them.
Down on the flats, standing water and drainage lines mean mosquitoes and midges in summer, and rodents that move out of cane and long grass when the land is harvested or flooded. Up in the newer estates, it is ants in fresh landscaping and spiders around new construction.
Flooding is part of life here too. After water goes through, cockroaches, rodents and ants all relocate, and homes that were never a problem suddenly are.

We can inspect and treat once the property is dry, and advise on what needs replacing rather than treating.

Tip out anything holding water weekly, from pot saucers to boat covers and blocked gutters. Keep grass short near the house and store feed and seed in sealed bins.
Bli Bli properties generally do best with treatment every six months, timed ahead of the wet season.

Andy completed a pest inspection at our property in Brisbane and his knowledge is second to none. He is very friendly and genuine and provided a great service. At the end of the pest inspection, he showed us through his findings and talked through different pest control methods and some things we could do to help lessen the chance of any termites finding the property attractive.

No one can, because they breed across the wetlands and drains. Treating resting spots and removing water around your yard makes a big difference to how many reach you.
Harvest removes their cover and food, so they move to the nearest buildings. Treating early in the season is the best defence.
Yes, once the property is dry. Flooding displaces pests into roofs and walls and leaves damp materials that attract more.
Recent land clearing and fresh landscaping disturb colonies. Treating the nests in garden beds and turf resolves most of it.
